Free Online Trading Software (OTS)
The OTS we supply, at no monthly cost to you, is a completely up to date, modern piece of software running on the .Net framework. It gives you the complete market depth and all other information that the professionals see of the different products offered by SAFEX.
You are able to execute trades directly into the market, from your computer, over the Internet. You are able to place triggered orders that will enter your trade when a certain price level is reached or to execute a stop.
You are able to open multiple accounts and trade them all from the same platform. This is handy if you want to trade multiple strategies, or trade an account on behalf of a friend or family member.
Trade the Financial market (i.e. Alsi Index) and the Agri market (i.e. Wmaz or Wheat) from the same window. DWT is almost unique in South Africa in giving you access to both markets simultaneously. Have all the different market depths of the different products open at once on your screen, or move some of them to a second screen if you prefer. Arrange the different parts exactly as you prefer, and make changes to the fonts: larger or smaller.
If you have open positions, you can keep track of your profit or loss live in the OTS as the market moves. This is especially handy if you have multiple positions open in different products.
The software is written to use bandwidth as efficiently as possible and you will spend a very small fraction of your monthly ADSL Cap to have it live for 9 hours a day.
No risk test
Request a username and password and download the trading software. Test it with no risk to you and at no cost, before you open an account. Just fill in your name and email address to the right here. Feel free to use a dummy name and the email account you use for Spam. Rest assured that we will in any case never send you spam.
Trading Data
The OTS gives you a DDE link facility. Use it to keep your Metastock Pro or Tradestation graphs live. (Save the cost of paying for your data from a data vendor.) Or use the built-in graph facility that comes standard with the OTS. We help our clients to do backfills of any data that you might have missed. The data is freely available on the Safex website and we have a small piece of software that extracts only the data you are interested in, and writes it in the format that you need for your Graphing Software.
Transaction history
You have a complete history of all your trades since day one available on the Web. Use your OTS username and password for access. Download it in Excel Worksheet format and perform all the statistical work you want on your trading history.
Daily Mark to Market reports are mailed to you early every morning, with a monthly statement summarizing the result of your trading for the month.
Stable Internet Connection
We have gone to great expense to make your connection to our trading server as stable and fast as possible. Download the trading software and request a username and password. Put our internet connection stability and speed to the test.
Our servers are also protected against the expected periods of electricity cuts that are going to be our lot in South Africa for the foreseeable future.

We are option specialists. We trade more than a 1000 option contracts for our own accounts per quarter. Phone us with your requirements, doesn't matter how big or small. We will either be able to help immediately, or we will find a counter party for you.
Open an account
To open an account, download the Safex contract, print it, complete and sign it by following the instructions given, and then give us a call. We will send our courier to pick it up from you.
Download the trading software and install it on your computer. Once we have opened an account (which will take approximately 24 hours) we will contact you with your account number and password.
Dealing by telephone
We regret that we do not offer dealing by telephone. We are able to offer you this low trading cost by only offering internet based trading. (Except in an emergency where we are always here to help.)
